Subject: Sienna

Bev,
Sienna is doing just fine, she had a little trouble adjusting to the dry air out here but that seems to be
getting better. She came with an inate 'knowing' of the workings of this household. When offered food from a fork she did not bat an eye, she slept all night from the first night, and I have only cleaned up two accidents in ten days. She is so much like my tiny smooth "Chiquita", the body mannerisms etc. That similarity will change as Sienna gets bigger as Chiquita never got over four pounds in her lifetime.

Hi Bev-
Well, I am ruined for life! Lilly has spoiled me forever! I cannot imagine life ever again without a Griff in it and now I tell everyone that if they are looking for the perfect little lap dog they should get a Griff. Lilly is the most wonderful little dog in the world and I would fight a “circle saw” before I would let anything happen to her. She follows me around and keeps me company wherever I go and she absolutely loves to be carried and snuggled. I think she would let me snuggle with her all day long if I wanted to. As you know I have a yorkie named Rickles that I love very much but even though he always wants to be near me he is not overly fond of being carried around or hugged and kissed. I really wanted that type of relationship and then came Lilly. She will let me carry her around and hug and kiss her all the time and when I am busy she will come up and dance around me wanting to be picked up, which just tickles me to death. I tell you, I never had any “skin kids” but Lilly is the best “fur kid” there is in the world. Thank you so much for trusting me enough to allow me to share my life with this wonderful little girl.

Suzanne flew into St. Louis, Mo. from Washington, DC. to pick up her baby girl, Reba(4 1/2 lbs).
8/31/09
Bev:
Thought you would enjoy seeing Reba's first day at work. She has been so good today and likes being on my desk in the bed instead of in the crate I have here. She is doing really well. I am getting more work done because I stay in my office more :) She seems really happy and boy can she run fast.....I am amazed at her speed. She sprints and runs round and round me. :) She either likes to be in my lap or she will lay in her bed on my desk and chew her chew stick from you or just sleep. If I get up to leave my desk she looks up at me and I pick her up to take her along. She is going outside to potty so that is wonderful (of course I do take her out at regular intervals). Yesterday she went to the vet and they all loved her and even wanted to keep her......I told them that I knew where they could find good quality social puppies. My vet is a big dog kinda guy but he said he would take her :) Her spay stitches came out easy and look great. My boss loves her.....he comes into my office at least 2 to 3 times a day to pet her......and everyone there loves her and ask if they can hold her. Of course, she loves the attention. I am going to keep taking her to work as long as my boss lets her come and if she stays this good hopefully that will be forever. She went with me the other day (in her purse) to Target and no one even knew she was in there (she was very quiet). The boys are doing better than I expected. They love her (even have to sniff her before going outside when we come home), but it will be a long time before I would think of turning her loose with them. She is doing well during the night. I put a big towel on my nightstand and the small crate on that and she sleeps there. When she wakes up and whines wanting to know where I am I just stick my fingers through the holes and she quiets right down and goes back to sleep. She doesn't whine much though....She is such a sweet girl.....Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your family and entrusting me with one of your special girls. I feel so lucky......
Well have to get up and get everyone fed so Reba and I can go to work......Take care.
Suzanne

Michele waited five months for me to make a decision about keeping Polly and then drove here from Canada to pick her up when I wouldn't ship her through customs. After meeting Michele and her husband, I knew I'd made the right decision for my precious Princess Polly.
Good evening Bev,
Polly is sound asleep right now on the cushion beside me, she is such a little darling, I cannot get enough of her. My daughter (Kelly) even bought her a sweater today and she looks so cute in it. Maybe I shouldn't tell you this, it might make you miss her too much but I adore her, if it' s any consolation; she is my pride and joy and I don't know which one of us is kissing more but all I can tell you, is, I LOVE HER and I am so happy, I have a hard time believing she is here next to me. Thanks again .
I'll keep in touch,
Michèle

One of my very favorite Griff girls, Giggles, went to her new forever home in Seattle, Wa. Here are the updates from her new Mommy, Ruth.
1st day: Had a good night with a few kisses from our new baby. What a doll!
5th day: Good Morning, Bev...Just a note to give you an update on Giggles. Oh, how we adore her. She is the sweetest little girl in the world. She has adjusted so well. She's brought back the puppy in Maggiemay(8 yrs.). They wrestle and play tug of war off and on all day. They're the best of Buddies. Thanks, Bev. God Bless...Ruth.
9th day: Thanks again for allowing us the pleasure of adopting our sweetheart, Giggles!
I will keep you informed on Giggles progress from time to time. And send pictures soon. Ruth.

Bev:
I cannot tell you how much joy has been brought to my life and my family by Brodie. My son, Ian, told me, at first he was jealous, but now understands as he loves him as well. Brodie is my constant companion when I am at home and out and about. He goes to soccer games with me, shopping (if I can get by with it), and to visit my parents. When I’m at work, he accompanies my husband (i.e., taking a nap until he goes to work at 3 p.m.). At the bank, Brodie is the first one the girls ask about. If he misses a soccer game, the other parents are asking me where he is.
Thank you for such a jewel. He is the diamond many women dream of having with sapphires and amethysts as his personality and devotion.

Hi Bev,

It's been a long while, everything is great here with Baxter and me. He really is my little fur- baby... my total little companion. He goes everywhere with me. I even volunteer him at the local nursing home. I can't thank you enough for helping find my little bumble bee, I love him so much and it has been a perfect match.

Take care,
Carol Ann

Bev,
Sorry we have not been in touch with you since we picked up Hailey a year ago. We had to write and tell you how wonderful she is and that you were good at helping pick out the perfect dog for us! I agree with the person that said Griffs are like potato chips, you can't just have one. We would love another one, but Bodie (our Boxer) and her are so close I'm afraid three would be a crowd, maybe not? I wanted a small dog to help me with the loss of my father and aunt, and although I still miss both of them very much, I can't tell you how happy she has made me, and yes she loves me like they did. You know that was a joke I said before I got Hailey, but she really does love me. My boy's always said , "Get a real dog",( talking about big dog's). Now you should see them with her, they are crazy about her! Oh, yes and although I said I would NEVER have a dog in my bed,yes Hailey has made it to our bed every night now! She is strong minded and very much in charge, but when she goes to have her hair done every five weeks, Bodie really does miss her for the three hours she is gone. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for such a wonderful dog! My husband and I agree, we will always have a Griff, and were so thankful we got Hailey from you! Attached are pictures of Hailey and Bodie together and Hailey by herself.
Thanks
Jody and Don Scardino

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a New Year full of blessings.

Update on Deja, a black, rough, adult female.
...........................
November 23, 2008
Bev,
How are you doing? Deja is a dream come true. She sleeps with Oz and my yorkie, Baxter, in the bed with me and our house cat. She can't get close enough to me!! She stretches out along my back under the covers, with her head in my hair on my pillow. Baxter sleeps on top of my side and Oz curls up under my chin. My husband thinks I'm crazy! No need for electric blankets. I am still working on sending you some pics. I always make a Christmas picture with all the house dogs in their new sweaters.
Take care, Rosemary

Here's another email proving why I believe it's so very important not to choose your Brussels Griffon puppy by physical appearance alone. When
I interview a potential client I'm able to gather information that will help me to match a Griff puppy's personality with your lifestyle and existing pets. This makes for a much happier life for you and your puppy.

October 2008
Hi Furnana Bev,
It's Brody here..... I found my forever home in New York, and am I ever loved. Mommy takes me almost everywhere with her, and even now, she is still buying me more sweaters and warm winter jackets to wear. It is very cold here some days, and I shiver when I go outside 'cause I'm only a little guy...last week at the vets, I weighed 2 pounds, 14 ounces. Mommy is always putting these silly t-shirts on me in the house as she doesn't want me getting chilled. I don't mind them. Everyone tells me how cute they are, so they'll stay....for now! I am trying to be good with going potty, but very often I'm "off my mark" by a whole room and leave my poopies in Michael's bedroom, or by the front door. Mommy doesn't yell, but she is getting frustrated. I pretty much go pee on the puppy pads though. Mom is gonna try putting the pads in Michael's room too, hoping that I'll use it when I go in there. I can run all over the house now, and I'm finding lost treasures of Mommy's. She needed me here as
I can get where no vacuum can! Most of the time Mommy takes my "great finds", and gives me one of my toys to chew. I am so happy that I have fur siblings to play with here. Darcy is like Lia, a German Shepherd. She and I play nice together, and I just love Taylor! Sometimes I think she is my fur mom, because she lets me snuggle close to her,
even lay on top of her whenever Mommy has to go out and doesn't take me....or if she's busy doing housework. Taylor lets me play with her fluffy tail too, and that's a whole lot of fun. I don't have one to chase or pull, nor did my Griff mama. I don't know that Taylor actually loves me yanking on her tail, but she lets me til I get a little crazy with it. Then Mommy scolds me not to be so rough, and gives me another toy to keep me busy.
Some days, when it's warmer out, Mommy takes us all outside, but not without my sweater or jacket. It doesn't bother me to wear them out to play, but I freak at the sound of the velcro opening when Mommy tries to take them off ... even when she does it gently & slow. I love chasing the blowing leaves and biting at the grass. I even started to dig a tiny hole in the front yard. That was so much fun! Can't get the terrier out of me, Mommy says. I follow Taylor all over the yard, sometimes I'll wander a little ways by myself....then I'll run to Mommy or Taylor {whoever is closer} and sit very proper. I always make Mommy laugh. She is so happy that she decided to get a new puppy. It has helped everybody, including me, because I got a great new home. And she got me!! Every day, Mommy tells me just how much she loves me. Best of all, I love her too. We play together all the time. Now, Mommy doesn't get anything done around here as we're always off and going
places or visiting her friends. I love riding in the car, and Mommy has this cool travel bag that I get in all by myself and sit or sleep while she's driving.
Oh, I forgot to tell you, Furnana Bev, Mommy has 2 BIG kitties, and they play with me too. There is one, who's almost the same color as me....he has long hair and his name is Rex. And we have a long haired tri-color one named Nissa. She's kinda shy sometimes, but she came right up to me the very first night I arrived here. I like them a lot because they
let me play with their toys. We bat balls back and forth across the kitchen floor, then race after them. Mommy is so pleased that everyone meshed so well right from Day 1. The fact that we all got along so quickly convinced Mom even more that I was "meant to be" here! I am glad that I can make Mommy smile again. She was very sad after my older brother,
Nick, went to Rainbow Bridge. Nick was a little Shih Tzu, almost my size. Mommy has pictures of Nick all over the house. He was very, very special to her. Do you know that Mommy said I was a very special gift to her .... Nick sent me here 'cause I needed a home, and he needed a little pup to be guardian over. So Nick is still with us, maybe not in body but in spirit. That thought makes Mommy feel good. And I'm gonna be the best, little boy for her. I am really trying so hard. In one short week, I've already learned my name BRODY. Everyone loves my name, and I love when Mommy tells people it means "brother" 'cause that's what I am!! That's a very important role, you know? I have some other BIG news......really BIG. This past week, I discovered that I can make big doggy sounds! Yep, Mommy heard my first, little high pitched bark the other day. Darcy and Taylor were barking at a stranger last Tuesday, and they wouldn't stop....then Mommy heard me yip and she was so excited. She said she felt like a new mom hearing her baby say his first word. It was so cool. Now if Darcy and I are playing, or Mommy and I are having one-on-one time, I will
sometimes make a tiny bark. Mommy says it sounds so cute. CUTE?! I don't want cute. I wanna scary bark like Darcy has....only thing scary about Darcy is her bark. She LOVES everybody! LOL. Oh well, one day when I'm all of my 8 lbs, my bark will make strangers run. Won't it? I guess that's all for now. Mommy started a DOGSTER page just for me. She sent you the link a few emails ago. And I even started to write my own diary, so I hope you'll stop by and read it every so often. I miss you, Furnana, but I am so happy in my new home. Tell my fur mom that she did a great job of "raising me" in my first weeks, and Mommy will keep sending you pix of me....if I ever stop moving. She calls me her Road Runner 'cause I never stay still for very long. Now, tell me, isn't that typical of a puppy? Okay, I'll try to be still... but it won't be easy!!!!
I Love You,
BRODY
