About Us

The collage on the home page is of me with some of the Griffs I've owned or bred. I've had pet dogs all my life but had never bred one. After years of thinking about it,
in the early 70's I decided I wanted to show dogs. I joined the local kennel club and
met a lady with a Gordon Setter for sale and I was off to conformation classes and
the shows. There I met a Shih Tzu breeder, fell in love with her dogs and decided I couldn't live without one. She became my mentor and also taught me to groom. I finished several of my Shih Tzu and was also showing several other breeds for
friends. I loved every minute of it but stopped showing and breeding for a number
of years due to family and health problems. I'm now divorced, have two sons, five grandchildren, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and I've moved to Missouri. I have wonderful friends here and have joined a small church full of loving, caring people.
I've owned numerous toy breeds over the years and had always been fascinated by
the Brussels Griffon whenever one came to a show, which wasn't very often. After doing my research, I decided this was truly the breed for me. They have fewer health problems than most toy breeds, are very intelligent, have a loving outgoing temperament, are playful and entertaining and aren't just a lap dog. They also have a zest for life that's contagious and enjoy their every waking moment! So, I emailed
and called many show breeders but of the few that would even talk with me no one
was willing to sell one of their Griffs to someone living in Missouri...a major puppy
mill state! But, I didn't give up. I kept searching until I found a breeder who was
retiring and needed to sell her dogs. They weren't the top show quality I wanted but they were good looking, healthy and had good temperaments. I came home with my first Griffs that day. My goal was always to get back into showing. But even with very selective breeding I soon discovered it wasn't possible with the quality of the dogs I had. I started calling and emailing again but none of the show breeders would give
me a chance until I met an elderly man in poor health that believed me when I said I loved this breed and wanted to breed the best quality Griffs and show them. He sold me several Champion Griffs and their offspring to establish a breeding program and when he passed away I was very lucky to get several more of his dogs. His 'Fine Time Brussels Griffon' are the foundation of my breeding program. In the last few years I've added several more top bloodlines to my breeding program and I'm very proud of the dogs I'm now breeding and showing. I learn something every time I go to a show and that knowledge goes toward making me a better breeder/exhibitor. I sell all my puppies on spay/neuter contract with limited registration unless the puppy is show quality. That not only protects my bloodlines and kennel name from ending up in the hands of unscrupulous breeders but also helps prevent those same breeders from damaging the health and quality of the Brussels Griffon. I am totally in love with this wonderful breed and as long as I can I'll have at least one pair of Griffs.
